Study visit of Croatian judges and state attorneys to Norwegian Correctional Service - KDI (Kriminalomsorgen)

The Croatian delegation comprising ten judges, state attorneys and representatives of the Directorate for Prison System and Probation participated in a study visit to the Norwegian Correctional Service from 20 to 24 March 2023. The visit was organised under the project "Strengthening human rights protection and public safety by improving the capacities of the Croatian probation service", financed under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021. 

During the study visit, the Croatian delegation had the opportunity to visit the Borgarting Court of Appeal, the Directorate of Norwegian Correctional Service (Kriminalomsorgsdirektoratet) and the Oslo Probation Office. At the meetings and presentations organised for the study visit, the delegation was informed about the organisation and functioning of the Norwegian justice system and the Norwegian Correctional Service, with an emphasis on the organisation and operation of drug treatment courts and the implementation of electronic monitoring in Norway.  The study visit also served to plan the upcoming project activities together with colleagues from Norway, including the programme of a training on electronic monitoring for Croatian judges, planned for April this year.
