Beginning of Self-Defence Course for Probation and Prison Officers

Under the project "Strengthening human rights protection and public safety by improving the capacities of the Croatian probation service", activity "Cooperation between the prison and the probation system", the delivery of the Self-Defence Course for Probation and Prison Officers began on 6 October 6 2022. The self-defence course is delivered in the sports hall of the Prison in Zagreb, and is organized in three stages, each lasting three meetings, organised once every two weeks, and will be conducted until the beginning of February 2023.

The course is delivered by trainers Ivan Šipura and Branimir Bunić for the officers of Probation Office Bjelovar, Probation Office Zagreb I, Probation Office Zagreb II, Probation Office Varaždin, Zagreb Prison, Karlovac Prison, Prison Hospital, Turopolje Reformatory, Training Centre, Diagnostics Centre, Central Office of the Probation Sector and Central Office for Prison System.
The aim of the self-defence course is to provide basic and advanced knowledge of self-defence in real life situations officials can face while performing their tasks, and it is designed for persons without prior knowledge in the field of self-defence whose basic job does not concern the safety and protection of persons and property.
