As part of the project “Strengthening human rights protection and public safety by improving the capacities of the Croatian probation service”, Activity “Cooperation of prison and probation systems”, the last meeting of the heads of probation offices and treatment department in penal institutions took place on 1 December 2023 in the Lepoglava Penitentiary. The participants were informed about all the activities carried out so far under the project component focused on the developing the cooperation between the prison system and probation service, and an analysis of the current state of mutual cooperation was made. The Director of the Lepoglava Penitentiary informed the participants about the history, organisation and functioning of the Lepoglava Penitentiary and organised a tour of closed sections and the semi-open section “Čret”.
