Third regional workshop

On 21 September 2023, the third regional workshop entitled “Exchange of experiences and examples of good practice in cooperation with the probation service” was held in the Judicial Academy Regional Centre at the Osijek County Court.

The workshop was held for municipal court judges and state attorneys of municipal state attorney’s offices from Osijek, Požega, Vukovar and Vinkovci. Through presentations and a joint discussion of the duties of the probation service, probation officers, judges and state attorneys analysed the cooperation so far and put forward proposals for improving future cooperation. 
The participants were presented with probation work in the stages before, during and after criminal proceedings, with special emphasis on the preparation of reports by the probation service before and during the criminal proceedings. The workshop was delivered by Judge Dijana Rizvić from the Municipal Criminal Court in Zagreb, Judge Marija Balenović from the High Criminal Court of the Republic of Croatia and civil servants from the Central Office for Probation and probation offices. 
The workshop was realised under the project “Strengthening human rights protection and public safety by improving the capacities of the Croatian probation service”, financed under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2012-2021.
The participants expressed their satisfaction with the workshop and highlighted the usefulness of such trainings and mutual cooperation.
