Study visit to the Netherlands under TSI project "Reform of civil status registries in Croatia using advanced technological solutions as a precondition for a modern and agile public service"

From 12 to 13 November 2024, the project team of the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation met with representatives of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and representatives of the Municipality of Leiden.

The aim of the study visit was to exchange experience and good practices in keeping personal data records, establishing digital identity and coordinating EU projects.

The project "Reform of civil status registries in Croatia using advanced technological solutions as a precondition for a modern and agile public service" is financed by the European Commission through the Technical Support Instrument (TSI), and is aimed at structuring data and integrating five existing registers into one single civil registry system. These are the Register of Births, the Register of Marriages, the Register of Deaths, the Citizenship Register of and the Life Partnership Register, and the integration of these data into a single system will enable more efficient and faster data processing and more efficient provision of services for citizens.
 
During the study visit, project team members got acquainted with Dutch good practices in the application of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence in personal data management, and exchanged experiences on digital identity and e-Wallet initiatives.  

The exchange of experience with Dutch colleagues will be crucial for the successful development and implementation of modern technological solutions and services in Croatia, which will contribute to a more efficient and agile public administration.
