Public or non-public hearing
The main hearing can be public or non-public (in exceptional cases stipulated in the law). A public main hearing can be attended by persons of age and the media. The chair of the judicial panel presides over the main hearing, maintains order in the courtroom and questions witnesses.
No photo, film, TV or other recordings with technical devices are allowed in the courtroom. By way of exception, the president of a county court may allow photo recordings, and the president of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia may allow TV and other recordings in individual main hearings.
