How is the victim and witness support system organised in Croatia?
Every victim can receive support in the competent departments of county courts, which exist in seven county courts. In other counties, the victim can contact a local member of the Support and Cooperation Network. The competent Service of the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation provides support to victims in some specific situations and coordinates the operation of the entire system.
In addition to these three parts of the system, victims often turn to civil society organizations (associations), which have different programmes, sometimes targeting only specific groups of victims or only a part of the country.
