Roundtable "Yellow Ribbon - Growing Strategically Together" in Prague

As part of the project ‘Strengthening the capacity and visibility of the prison and probation system’, representatives of the prison system, Gospić Prison Manager Petar Rukavina, Head of Security at Gospić Prison Tihomir Stilinović and Senior Adviser at the Probation Office Zagreb I Nena Perić, participated in the Roundtable entitled ‘Yellow Ribbon - Growing Strategically Together’ in Prague on 5 February 2025

​The roundtable was organised by Gabriela Slováková, CEO of Yellow Ribbon Czech Republic, and Kim Ekhaugen,  Director of International Cooperation of the Norwegian Correctional Service - KDI (Kriminalomsorgen).

A new European visual identity of the project was presented at the roundtable by Veronika Frielibová, and the first experiences from pilot races in Croatia and Lithuania were shared. The race held in Gospić in September 2024 and plans for the future were presented by Gospić Prison Manager Petar Rukavina and Senior Adviser at the Probation Office Zagreb I Nena Perić. 
 
During workshops in the second part of the roundtable ideas were exchanged about further strategies for project development at the European level, the need to create an organisation at the European level where representatives of interested European countries would join, ideas were exchanged about the vision and mission of the Yellow Ribbon European Initiative and an important emphasis was placed on the need to think about the financial sustainability of the initiative.

The event in Prague was attended by representatives from Norway, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Germany and Singapore, all with the same passion for the idea of Yellow Ribbon and a common vision - to support people with a criminal past and their families.
