The Romanian Ministry of Justice organised a closing conference for the Justice Programme implemented under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism

The conference was held on 15 October 2024 in Bucharest, and was attended by representatives of Norway and Romania as well as other beneficiary countries of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. The conference was opened by a high representative of the Ministry of Justice of Romania.

The closing conference was focused on evaluating achievements in strengthening the rule of law and addressing specific objectives such as improvement of services, better access to justice for vulnerable groups, including Roma communities, fight against organised crime and corruption, and support to the implementation of the Istanbul Convention to tackle domestic and gender-based violence. These topics demonstrated the focus of the programme on the reform of the justice system, capacity building and social reintegration.

The conference was attended by Tatjana Hip from the Probation Office Zagreb II and Mia Sušac from the Probation Office Varaždin, and the participation was realised under the project "Strengthening the capacity and visibility of the prison and probation system", funded under the Bilateral Fund of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
