‘Women need institutions on their side!’ Ministry supports campaign of Autonomous Women's House Zagreb to fight violence against women
The Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation perceives violence against women as a serious social problem that can only be eradicated by synergistic action of institutions and society
The Government of the Republic of Croatia has recently given its contribution through amendments to a package of laws - the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Act and the Protection against Domestic Violence Act.
Representatives of civil society organisations and the academic community were also involved in the process of improving the overall legislative framework for combating violence against women, and the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation in turn decided to give its unreserved support to the campaign of the Autonomous Women’s House Zagreb ‘It Takes Everyone, Not Just Some!’, which is being implemented on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and 16 Days of Activism.

The campaign of the Autonomous Women's House Zagreb aims to raise awareness that joint action is necessary to achieve real changes in combating violence against women.
“The campaign emphasizes that a safe woman is one who is not left to herself. Combating violence against women requires coordinated action by all sectors - from government institutions, the judiciary, the police, social welfare, healthcare, educational institutions to non-governmental organisations. It is only by united action that we can ensure systematic support for women survivors of violence, improve prevention and create a safe environment for a life free from violence", the Autonomous Women's House Zagreb stated.
The campaign is being implemented as part of the Thematic Systematic Support funded by the National Foundation for Civil Society Development, and you can see it here.
