On Wednesday 19 March 2025, the second Yellow Ribbon Run race was held, under the slogan "Run from prejudice!", at the Bundek Sports and Recreation Centre in Zagreb

This symbolic race, which was first organised in September 2024 in Gospić, once again achieved great success. The aim of the race was to sensitise the public and emphasise the importance of community support in the rehabilitation and resocialisation of people with a criminal past.

‘The aim of this race is to raise awareness of the rehabilitation, reintegration and re-socialisation of people deprived of liberty. After leaving the prison system, those people return to everyday life, and this is to show support to them and their families to go through this transition as easily as possible", said Minister Damir Habijan.

About 350 people participated in the race, including the Minister and civil servants of the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Norway to Croatia, persons deprived of liberty, probationers, judicial police officers and other officers of correctional institutions, probation officers, judges and court officials, prominent athletes, academics, representatives of non-governmental organisations and other community stakeholders.

Trhough their participation, they pointed out the importance of social support in the process of reintegration of persons with a criminal past. In addition to runners and family members of persons deprived of liberty, many more supported the race by their presence, which once again showed great interest and support of the community for this important initiative.

The end of the programme was reserved for socialising with athletes who actively participated in the promotion of this race - Stjepan Božić, Željko Šaban Miličić, Ivica Kostelić and brothers Sinković, along with a musical performance by Ante Gelo.

Parallel to the race in Zagreb, races were held in the outer premises of penitentiaries in Lepoglava and Glina for the inmates and officers of those correctional institutions.

The race was organised by the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation, Directorate for the Prison System and Probation, as part of the bilateral project "Improving the capacity and visibility of the prison and probation systems", funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Croatia.
