Workshop on application of OECD Guidelines on Corporate Governance held in Vukovar
On 9 October 2025, the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation organised a workshop in Vukovar entitled ‘Application of the OECD Guidelines on Corporate Governance in companies majority-owned by local and regional self-government units’
The first part of the workshop was dedicated to the purpose and scope of the OECD Guidelines, entitled "Supervisory Board as a Corporate Governance Mechanism", and the second part dealt with "Promoting Integrity and Combating Corruption at Company Level".
Lectures and practical part of the workshop were delivered by Prof. Dr. Sc. Darko Tipurić, Tenured Full Professor at the Department of Organisation and Management of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb, and Dr. Sc. Lana Cindrić, Postdoctoral Fellow in the same Department.
Through group work, participants addressed specific tasks such as analysing the cases of reporting, proposing models to improve transparency and identifying critical steps in corruption prevention. They practiced procedures for identifying and documenting conflicts of interest, and each task was designed to apply the recommendations of the OECD Guidelines on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises to the actual organisational challenges faced by companies owned by local and regional self-government units.
The objectives of the workshop were to provide participants with a better understanding and facilitate practical application of key OECD recommendations in the context of local and regional companies, the adoption of methods for establishing transparent decision-making processes and reporting systems, and the development of risk identification and assessment skills. Particular emphasis was placed on the application of concrete mechanisms for the prevention of corruption and the consistent implementation of codes of ethics.
