The 8th Cyber Security Conference - CSC 2024, organised by the Croatian Institute of Cyber Security, is taking place in Osijek on 9 and 10 October.

The topic of this year's conference is "Artificial Intelligence in Cyber Security", with the aim to provide a platform for experts from different fields to gather, share knowledge and solutions, as well as cooperate in order to tackle the latest cybersecurity challenges in synergy.

On this occasion, State Secretary Bernard Gršić pointed to the rise of cyber threats at the global level and the paramount importance of raising awareness of possible cyber threats and protection from them.

The ultimate goal of all actors involved in the field of cyber security is a regulated, accessible, open and safe Croatian cyberspace through a coordinated and balanced response of a number of institutions representing all sectors of society.

In addition to all the activities carried out in the process of digital transformation in Croatia, cooperation between EU countries is of great importance in order to ensure an accessible, open and safe cyberspace for Croatian citizens.

The issue of security is one of the fundamental issues of every country, and the dangers and risks that are part of cyberspace must not be ignored
, he said.

Participants concluded that in today's digital age, cyber threats are evolving faster than ever before, which poses complex challenges for organisations to protect their information systems and data. In parallel, AI is opening new doors for detecting, preventing and responding to security threats, offering revolutionary approaches in the fight against cybercrime.

In today's digital era, security in the virtual environment is even more important as the protection of personal data, protection against data losses, protection of financial transactions as well as the preservation of business reputation and prevention from attacks on digital systems depend on it.

The development of artificial intelligence offers many opportunities in the field of cyber security, allowing us to upgrade existing defence systems through automation and more advanced analytics. It is our duty to use these advanced technologies to proactively identify vulnerabilities and ensure a strong response to threats before they become real hazards. We want to be proactive in the processes of digitalisation at all levels of society, and we have strong support from the Government of the Republic of Croatia in this regard
, concluded State Secretary Gršić.
