We would like to draw citizens’ attention to the fact that there are currently fraudulent messages circulating, presented as e-Citizens notifications

Even though they may seem authentic, it is important to emphasise that such messages are not sent through the e-Citizens system. Official notifications never contain links to unknown sites or ask for personal information or payments.

This type of message has all the characteristics of a fraud attempt known as phishing, where scammers falsely present themselves as official institutions in order to obtain sensitive information or financial benefits.

We advise citizens to ignore such messages and not to open the links contained in them. In case of doubt or if you believe that you may be a victim of fraud, we recommend that you contact the National CERT or the nearest police station without delay.
