Minister Malenica speaks to Greek Deputy Minister of Justice Bougas

On Friday 11 August, Minister of Justice and Public Administration Ivan Malenica spoke with Greek Deputy Minister of Justice Ioannis Bougas about cooperation in the process relating to football fan violence in Athens on Monday evening.

Minister Malenica requested that Croatian citizens be guaranteed the right to a fair trial, legal protection and understanding of the proceedings, as well as other rights during deprivation of liberty and the duration of the proceedings.

The Minister pointed out that the Republic of Croatia expects all the circumstances of the riots to be clarified in cooperation with all the competent authorities during the proceedings, stressing that the Government of the Republic of Croatia condemns fan riots and hooliganism, which represent the very negation of sport.
