Minister Malenica meets with U.S. Deputy Assistant Attorney General Richard Downing

The topics of the meeting included possible areas of enhanced cooperation between Croatia and the USA in relation to cybercrime and electronic evidence under the cooperation programme of the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training and the International and Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Network of the U.S. Department of Justice, in order to strengthen and help improve the capacity of judicial partners in law enforcement in the fight and prevention of transnational cybercrime.
 
Both sides asserted their satisfaction with the judicial cooperation between Croatia and the USA under the Memorandum of Understanding on Law Enforcement between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Government of the United States of America, which includes cooperation through ICITAP (International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program) and OPDAT (Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training) - programmes/mechanisms of providing assistance to and cooperation with the justice systems of partner countries, managed and organised by the US Department of Justice.

In conclusion, both sides underlined their willingness to further strengthen and improve the bilateral cooperation.
