Inaugural visit of Finnish Ambassador
On Tuesday, 16 November 2021, State Secretary Juro Martinović received an inaugural visit from H.E. Mr. Kalle Kankaanpää, Ambassador of Finland to Croatia.
The topics discussed at the meeting included the rule of law and judicial cooperation between Croatia and Finland.
State Secretary Martinović affirmed a very good bilateral judicial cooperation with Finland. With regard to the rule of law, it was highlighted as an area of key importance to Croatia, and that the European Commission report provided guidance for further development and progress in the area. State Secretary Martinović also emphasized that the development of the rule of law within the EU is a continuous process which requires strengthening of the legislative and institutional framework.
In conclusion, both sides underlined their readiness to deepen and strengthen their cooperation and relationship, especially in the area of the rule of law, bilateral cooperation and EU-wide cooperation.
