At today's Government session, Minister Damir Habijan presented the new Decree on Telework and Remote Work in the Civil Service

Following the adoption of the first decree regulating telework and remote work in 2023, the Government adopted a new decree regulating this working model at today's session, on the basis of the new Civil Service Act, which entered into force on 1 January 2024.

“The new Decree on Telework and Remote Work in the Civil Service prescribes the obligation of state authorities to implement measures for managing cyber security risks, and the possibility of termination of the teleworking or remote working arrangement before the expiry of the period for which it was granted, if a civil servant fails to perform their duties or if they themselves request it”, explained Minister Habijan.

The Decree also stipulates minimum and maximum duration of a teleworking or remote working agreement (from one to twelve months), jobs that cannot or may not be performed remotely, and regulates the delivery of training programmes for civil servants interested in this working model.
