Delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic visits the Ministry

A delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic is on a one-week study visit to the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation under the JUST4ALL project, jointly funded by the European Union and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). 

The delegation was welcomed by State Secretary Vedrana Šimundža Nikolić and Acting Director General for the Prison System and Probation Zvonimir Penić.

During the study visit, members of the delegation were acquainted with the structure and operation of the prison and probation systems. They visited the Probation Offices Zagreb I and Zagreb II and the Penitentiary in Lepoglava, where they exchanged knowledge and experience with Croatian prison and probation officers with the aim of improving everyday practices.

Additionally, a visit was made to the County Court in Velika Gorica, where the delegation had the opportunity to get directly acquainted with the role of the judge in the enforcement of prison sentences and community sanctions and measures. 

A representative of the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic held a presentation on the Kyrgyz probation system, and Croatian probation officers could attend both physically and online.

Members of the delegation expressed special interest in the rehabilitation programmes implemented in the probation service, projects of the probation service and practical examples related to the implementation of community sanctions.
