The Probation Sector of the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation has received the European Innovative Teaching Award (EITA) of the European Commission for the Erasmus+ project "Virtual Reality in the Context of Treatment Skills"
The European Innovative Teaching Award (EITA) recognises the work of teachers, trainers and educators (and their organisations) that make an exceptional contribution to the profession by implementing successful Erasmus+ projects.
The project "Virtual reality in the context of treatment skills" was awarded in the adult education category. It developed VR software and training scenarios for the training of probation officers and laid innovative foundations for the use of new technologies in the training of professionals and in their work with criminal offenders, all with the aim of improving offender rehabilitation.
The project was implemented in the period from 1 April 2022 to 30 September 2023 by the Croatian probation service.
The award ceremony was organised on 11 November 2025 at Hotel Dubrovnik by the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes.
