Study visit of Probation Service of North Macedonia to Croatian probation service

In the framework of the ‘EU Support for Rule of Law’ project, representatives of the Probation Service of North Macedonia and representatives of its cooperative organisations, judges and prosecutors were on a study visit to the Croatian probation service from 12 to 15 May 2025. The aim of the visit was to improve knowledge, skills and competences, to get acquainted with examples of good practice, as well as to strengthen cooperation between the probation services of the two countries.
 
During the visit, Macedonian colleagues had the opportunity to get acquainted with the organisation, practices and challenges of the Croatian probation system. Special emphasis was placed on work with probationers, interdepartmental cooperation, digital tools in probation work and successful examples of reintegration of probationers into the community. Meetings were organised with the Probation Sector of the Ministry as well as with judges and legal persons, as the key stakeholders of the probation service in the community.

Dijana Gjeroska, Head of the North Macedonian Probation Supervision Department, presented the Croatian probation service with a Certificate of Appreciation for exceptional contribution to the development and advancement of the Probation Service of the Republic of North Macedonia, emphasizing that the support and cooperation of colleagues from the Croatian probation service had played a significant role in strengthening the shared mission and enhancing professional standards.
