On 23 and 24 October 2024, the 4th Congress of Court Probation Officers was held in Warsaw, Poland
The participants of the Congress were high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Justice of Poland, representatives of the academic community and Polish probation officers, who presented the specifics of the operation of the probation system and the work of probation officers, the challenges they face and the direction in which they want to develop their service in the coming period.
The conference was attended by Goran Brkić, Head of the Probation Sector of Croatia’s Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation and probation officer Ivana Matić Hudina. Jana Špero Kamenjarin, Secretary General of the Confederation of European Probation and Prof. Ioan Durnescu from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, held a workshop on Probation systems in European states and presented the significance of cooperation and improvement of European probation systems.
All participants are beneficiaries of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, which represents an opportunity for mutual learning and exchange of experience for the purpose of further development of the probation service.
The participation of Croatian representatives was realised under the project "Strengthening the capacity and visibility of the prison and probation system", funded under the Bilateral Fund of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
