Seminar and workshop on mediation and free legal aid

A seminar was held in Crikvenica on 3 October 2024 and a World Café workshop on 4 October 2024 as part of the implementation of the project “Mediation and free legal aid: opportunities for synergy”.

More than 70 people participated in the two-day events, including Norwegian, Greek and Croatian experts, civil servants from the administrative bodies of counties and the City of Zagreb working on free legal aid, providers of primary legal aid working in authorised associations or in cooperation with them, lawyers, mediators, staff of the Centre for Peaceful Dispute Resolution and civil servants of the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation.

The first day was reserved for the seminar, which included lectures on free legal aid and mediation in Croatia and the comparable legal systems of other European countries, i.e. on the possibilities of synergy with regard to the types of cases and potential beneficiaries.

At the workshop held on the second day, participants had the opportunity to express their opinion on the systems we have and the possibilities of progress. Participants achieved a synergy during the exchanges that outweighs the total sum of contributions.

The project is funded from the Bilateral Relations Fund under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2024.
