On 29 September 2023, a presentation of the results of the Erasmus+ project “Virtual Reality in the Context of Treatment Skills” was held at the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration.
The participants were welcomed by the Head of Probation Sector, who stressed his pride in the fact that the Probation Sector is the first one within the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration to have independently prepared, applied, been granted and implemented an Erasmus+ project. The presentation was attended by over 30 experts from the prison and probation system, Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, State School of Public Administration, Training Centre of the Prison and Probation System, etc. Project Manager Vesna Zelić Ferenčić presented the project activities, a workbook, which is one of the project results, and educational materials - scenarios intended for the training of experts, adapted for use in VR environment and available online. She also emphasised the excellent cooperation with the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes during the realisation of project activities.
The partnership project between Croatia and Romania opened the door to using new technologies, with special emphasis on VR, in training experts as well as in working with offenders with the aim of their better rehabilitation, resocialisation and reintegration.
