On 23 and 24 November 2022, civil servants from the Probation Sector of the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration Vesna Zelić Ferenčić and Martina Rakić participated in an interdepartmental workshop organised by EuroPris and CEP in Bucharest, Romania.
In order to find a good balance between efficiency, safety and reduction of recidivism, prison systems and probation services include civil society organizations, community social services and other social institutions in their work with convicts, to support all aspects of reintegration and rehabilitation.
At the workshop, the civil servants from the Ministry presented the innovative practice of interdepartmental cooperation in Croatia, in Međimurje County, within the Roma Mentors Pilot Project, which is implemented under the project "Strengthening human rights protection and public safety by improving the capacities of the Croatian probation service", financed under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
