On 20 June 2022, the first online training entitled “Direct work with victims/witnesses of crimes” was held for 14 representatives of the victim and witness support system.
The topics of the first online training included:
- Communication skills in direct work
- Specificities of telephone consulting
- Personal contact with the client
- Supporting victims dissatisfied with criminal proceedings.
The training was delivered by the Women's Room association, headed by Anamaria Drozđan-Kranjčec, mag. iur. (Women's Room), with Maja Mamula, DSc. (Women's Room), Marijana Senjak, a psychologist and psychotherapist (Women's Room) and Jasna Belamarić, a psychologist and expert in the field of communication skills and counselling, as trainers.
The training is an integral part of the project "Improving the quality of the judiciary by strengthening the capacities of prison and probation system and victim and witness support system" implemented by the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration of the Republic of Croatia, which is co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund. Within the project, the Women's Room was selected to implement the activity of delivering 6 one-day online trainings for the representatives of the victim and witness support system, i.e. for the representatives of the victim and witness support departments at the county courts in Zagreb, Sisak, Osijek, Vukovar, Split, Rijeka and Zadar as well as representatives of the Victim and Witness Support Division of the Ministry.
The project is co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund.
