State Secretary Ivan Crnčec participated in the ministerial meeting of the Dialogue Group on Accountability for Ukraine and the international conference “United for Justice. Accountability for Crimes against Civilians” in Kyiv

The events were co-organised by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, with the support of European and international partners

The conference brought together high-level representatives of states, international organisations, judicial authorities and international criminal law experts to strengthen international cooperation in prosecuting the most serious crimes committed in the context of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

Speaking at the panel on crimes in the temporarily occupied territories, State Secretary Crnčec presented Croatia's experiences in prosecuting war crimes as a consequence of the temporary occupation of part of the Croatian territory during the Croatian War of Independence.

By participating in this conference, Croatia reaffirmed its support for international efforts aimed at ensuring accountability for the crimes committed and supporting Ukraine in strengthening the rule of law and securing justice for victims. State Secretary Crnčec was accompanied at the conference by Director General Mladen Bručić-Matic.
